Potty puppy training is really easy but it will take time, consistency and patience in part of the trainer. Its the most crucial step in the life of your puppy since youll train him or her to be well behaved in terms of disposing the poop and urine properly. There are three basic steps for potty puppy training: observing, reward system, and consistency.

  1. First is to observe. Each dog has their own time to go. In this part of the training, you dont need to do anything except to observe your dog. They will show the pattern when or where they prefer to urinate or poop. As much as possible let them out of the house most of the time.

  2. The next part of the potty puppy training is the reward system. Now that you know when do they need to go, take them out on that time and wait for them to poop or urinate. When they have successfully done this give them something in return. This will encourage your dog to poop on a proper time and place since they know theres a reward coming up. Their free time should also be done after they poop. This is also another reward for them.

  3. Lastly is consistency. If you change your time and policy too much, the dog will be confused on what to do and what to follow and the potty puppy training is definitely a failure. Thats why its important to know which time they prefer to go. When you have committed to a time, stick to it as long as you see results. But for whatever reason, your observation is wrong. Be sure to change quickly and stick to the plan as long as possible until they become familiar with the time. You should also give them a stern No and remove them from that place when they urinate or poop inside the house.

But why do our dogs need potty puppy training? The benefits actually are more on the owners that the dogs. The dogs for sure will be kept healthy and happy all the time. However, for the owner of the dog, it means that the dogs will not litter any poop that will be harmful for anyones health. If you properly train them, the dog will always be at your side without causing you any trouble. Both you and the dog will be happy and healthy at the same time.
